Prof. Catherine A. Odora Hopper during the launch of the telehealth portal at Gulu University in her general remarks says African are in celebration of humanity and plurality, with a humble knowledge is a partial knowledge she reasoned.

Therefore, and as a partial knowledge, it is an invitation to the universe, our being. Humility necessitates openness; emergence and humble knowledge are plural knowledge that refuses to seek hegemony.

It means no sciences can musumize anothers knowledge. No society should triage another; there is no failed society or failed knowledge which deserves to be eliminated.

A humble knowledge belongs to the commons; to innovate and create is to be part of a community of thinkers

Prof. Odora Hoppers argues that humble knowledge needs justice from time and in scientists, Indigenous Knowledge (IKS) is not ancestral, or an object to be developed by scientists, IKS is our contemporary. And IKS invites a conversation.

Indigenous knowledge seeks to create epistemologies that prevent knowledge from being exploited, extractive or violent.

She adds that a humble knowledge realizes that epistemology as a validation or test of knowledge, cannot be ritualised in a laboratory through formal science alone!!!

Epistemology and livelihoods

Prof. Odora elaborated that epistemology today has to connect life, life worlds, life cycles, livelihoods and lifestyle.

“Knowledge” (not information or data), constitutes that interconnectivity between the different worlds.

A humble knowledge is a prudent knowledge and a modest knowledge which has its roots in survival, subsistence and coping.

Why we are here…

This is not a historical moment because, history is often painful;

History demands body counts.

IKS is a prayer, a ritual, a celebration, a gift, an offering.

These are thoughts winnowed from the folklore of suffering and exclusion (Visvanathan 2016).

A week telehealth zoom conference attracted academia whole over the world, during the fireplace wang of the Acholi hegemony learned system.

The scholars from Busonga Sub Region from Eastern Uganda, who later agree to meet the leaders from Acholi Sub Region to form Indigenous Knowledge languages, are tough in its holistic method.
