Beg Ugandans, especially Acholi, both within the country and those residing in Diaspora, not to react or respond to the Buganda in the diaspora who are attacking Amb. Olara Otunnu bids for UN Secretary-General SG bids

Emeritus Uganda Chief Justice, Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo Chigamoi, in a bold request, he ask all Acholi and Ugandans to support the UN bids for Amb Dr. Olara Otunnu, currently being supported by President Museveni, rather than criticising him as the Buganda in diaspora; they are demonstrating against his un top job because he has been nominated by President Museveni.

“All Acholi and all Ugandans who gather here at Kaunda Grounds, you all know that Amb Dr. Olara Otunnu has been nominated and is running for the top NU job. There is an election in New York City forthcoming; Uganda nation, as we praise God, we gather here. Uganda nominated Amb Dr. Olara Otunnu, who was nominated by Uganda, and raced against 8 participants.

I am 70 years old; in case you don’t know, anything that is spoken with one with one voice, across tribes, across religions, across that nomination of Amb Dr. Olara Otunnu, the people are speaking for Uganda for Amb Olara Otunnu. The President of NUP, Robert Kyagulanyi, has issued a statement condemning those Ugandans who are demonstrating against Amb Olara Otunnu, saying that the UN top Job for Amb. Olara Otunnu is the best for the world as SG,” Emeritus Chief Justice Owiny Dollo Chigamoi repeatedly echoed.

Added, people, let us move with the world. I am appealing to all Ugandans: let us pray for Amb. Olara Otunnu. Do not respond to those who are negative; let us share with the rest of Uganda that the world wants Amb Olara Otunnu.

For years, Amb Olara Otunnu walked on foot to Gulu High Secondary School because Amb. Olara Otunnu is a man with humanity. As I stressed this, I talked to Amb. Olara Otunnu, do not attack those who are attacking him; the wind will blow them away.

Many people in Northern Uganda have a dream that they will be welcomed by Amb. Olara Otunnu in New York City. The Editor of the Elephant online publication, Willy Chowoo, posted on his social media that he was welcomed by Amb. Olara Otunnu and a person from Uganda who is called Tumusiime called her by name.

The Editor of Oyeng Yeng online publication, the Uganda Correspondent Okumu Livingstone Langol, also had a dream that, for the second time, Amb. Olara Otunnu has gone back to work with the UN.

“I had a dream that Amb Olara Otunnu had gone back to work with the UN a month ago.”

Last Saturday, August 29, all the roads in Gulu City were leading to Kaunda Boma ground when Emeritus Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo made the pronouncement; Acholi bowed down in approval.

Emeritus Chief Justice Owiny Dollo disclosed that the breakthrough through Amb. Olara Otunnu and President Museveni shook hands for the first time on 14, April 2026, after his retirement as Uganda Chief Justice, he organised a thanksgiving; President Museveni was the guest of Honor during the thanksgiving.

“What did Acholi get from President Museveni? The brilliant thing President Museveni did was endorse Amb. Olara Otunnu for the UN SG. President Museveni, way back in the 1990s, rejected nominating Amb Olara Otunnu, and if he had endorsed Amb. Olara Otunnu by then, he would have been the first African UN Secretary-General.” Emeritus Chief Justice Owiny Dollo argued.

Emeritus Acholi Paramount Rwot David Onen Acana II, on Friday, August 28, during the welcome of Retired Gen. Otema Awany, disclosed that before President Museveni nominates Amb. Olara Otunnu for the UN SG, he rang and informed him that he has been nominated to contest for the UN top job.

“I want to inform you that Amb. Dr. Olara Otunnu phoned me that he has been nominated to contest for the UN SG. I am very happy, and I also endorsed him to become the UN SG. I thank God for our son, Amb. Olara Otunnu, who had served the UN.” Emeritus Acholi paramount chief, who happened to be Rwot Payira, one of the chiefdoms in Acholi, reiterated.
