Hon. Peter Anyong Nyong’o’ the Governor of Kisumu City, promised to construct National Theater in Gulu City in memory of the late Prof. Okot P’ Bitek as part of Lou re-union to promote degraded decedent Lou traditional culture, while addressing Gulu City Council and leaders of Rocco Paco in Gulu on Monday.
“I am very agog to be here in Gulu City, Gulu City is Dalla, and Kisumu City is Dalla. Literally home to me. I was here in Gulu Municipal in 1970, when I was at Makerere University, we came here for playing free services theater, I was very happy when our people here booked me to sleep in Presidential Lodge took me to presidential lodge.” Hon Peter Nyong’o’ echoed.
Added, really, I would like Kisumu County and Gulu City to get together, I am not been around for quite a long time, but what I have seen today the shops are being run by indigenous. But, in Kisumu City Indians they are running most of the shop, when especially Oginga Odinga streets.
