ACHOLI MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENTS ARE BEING SPONSOR BY Balaalo in 2026 POLLS

GULU CITY -MONDAY JUNE 16, 2025.

Only two Acholi Legislators appeared at Northern Uganda Media Center (NUMEC) to address the media on the plight of the Balaalo cattle migrants following the adamancy of the cattle keeper’s to voluntarily exit.
Gilbert Olanya, the MP for Kilak South County Amuru District and Betty Aol Ocan, the Woman MP for Gulu City Division they are furious about Balaalo migrants’ failure to leave Northern Uganda following the Two weeks President Museveni Ultimatum to evacuate Acholi land.
“The Balaalo cattle migrants who have purportedly bought Acholi customary land claimed that they will not leave until the land they bought is compensated. It seems that president Museveni made a Presidential Order just to appease Balaalo.” Gilbert Olanya stressed during the press conference in Gulu on Monday.
Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Uganda Defense Forces (CDF), jet in Gulu City on Sunday June 14, 2025 and camped in Gulu UPDF 4th Division on a mission to re-enforce president Museveni Executive Order of evicting the Balaalo cattle keepers’ migrants who were chased from Northern Tanzania, Eastern DRC and Rwanda.
Gen. Muhoozi met Emeritus Acholi paramount chief on Monday, where he held a closed-door discussion which still remains secret.
However, a source who talked to the Black Star News revealed that Gen. Muhoozi is gathering opinion from across elders, Rwodi, and stakeholders before addressing the Balaalo in Palaro Sub County on Wed. June 17, 2025.
Charles Akena, the Coordinator NUMEC, asked an official from GULU City Residence Commission, posing the question that, if possible, journalists from Acholi Sub Region should also have the opinion from the Balaalo cattle keepers as regards to the land they bought?
The official disclosed that indeed there are some people who have invested UGX Billions, citing four Commissioners from Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), have allegedly acquired customary land in Nwoya District among other UPDF Generals and the Cabinet Minister including Raphael Magyezi, the Local Government Minister.
“The problem with those big shots who have bought land in Northern Uganda, they have employed their people on the ground, and once their animals graze into people’s gardens, and are arrested. Instead of following the right procedure of court cases, they contact those Commissioners and top government officials, who just phone Northern Regional Police Commander. The RPC just rings the DPC of that particular area, and you find that the animals are released.” Sources intimated.
Monday June 15, 2025 was the worst date for the Acholi community, which has never happened in the history it happened. The press conference was called by Acholi Parliamentary Groups to address the Balaalo saga. Out of 30 plus MPs in Acholi Sub Region who should have reported for the press conference, only two MPs turn up, the rest did not turn up, and they shifted off their phones.
Only Betty Aol Ocan, the Woman MP for Gulu City and Dr. Gilbert Olanya, the MP for Kilak South county, Amuru District turned up to address Northern Uganda Media Club on the Presidential Executive Order on Balaalo.
The information Oyeng Yeng News desk received from the vain yard sours revealed that as the Balaalo refuse to comply with President Museveni eviction order, they are channeling their money to sponsor all the Acholi MPs.
