Andrew Okot aka Obi-Bii, is not losing sleepless, indeed the political ground is favoring him, against incumbent Omoro District Chairman Okello Peter Douglas Okao, his campaign strategy has changed while on a campaign is just appointing his polling agent.

“I have changed my campaign, in my campaign plyers, you see my photo, in right, for President Museveni in the middle, and for Betty Laika, of the left. I am only introducing her and appointing those who they are going to protect my votes.”

For us in Omoro District we have been liberated from the visitors.

Tony Awany, the incumbent MP for Nwoya County, who is also the aspirant MP for Nwoya County, also hinted that if opinion polls to taken today, he is 80% victory, the other 20% I just left for DFC aspirant MP.

From tomorrow Friday, November 28, 2025, I am pitching camp in Purongo Sub County where I will be campaigning around and appointing my party agents, those who will protect my votes.

Highlighting massive debt in road construction blackleg, in 2025, when presenting the 2025/26 Ministerial policy statement for the Ministry of Works and Transport, Awany altered Parliament that Uganda’s road construction sector had an outstanding debt of UGX 5.2 trillion, including UGX 3.491 trillion owed to project-Affected persons (PAPs), for land/compensation, and UGX 1.73 trillion in unpaid certificates for completed road works.

He warned that failure to compensate PAPs promptly hurts project timeline, increase costs, risks litigation, and undermines constrictors confidence which undermines future infrastructure development.

Other assignment he has carried, oversight and push for repair and rehabilitation of critical infrastructure, for example bridges in Northern Uganda, during a 2024 regional parliamentary sitting in Northern Uganda, Gulu City Awany presented a report on the state of transport infrastructure, pointing out dire conditions of roads and bridges across Northern Uganda, and how that affects economic and social development.

He pressed for urgent repair and rehabilitation of the aging Karuma Bridge and Pakwach Bridge, citing structure faults, like expansion joints, structural cracks.
