Our Correspondent caught up with Francis Opoka of Bikes Club Association Uganda and asked him why he wanted to open Northern Uganda Bikes Club, and who is he?
Francis Opoka, I am in three different Biker Association, apart from Northern Rider Club, I am the one heading Central Rider Association, I am their Ambassador for the Country.
When did you join the Riders Association?
Francis Opoka, I have been with them about six years, throughout my life, I have been a Biker riding for over 10 years from 2014.
What is the benefit?
Francs Opoka, the first benefit is the social capital, secondly, the Bikers Riders exposing you to the others culture, thirdly, we give Charity to communities. You learned how Charity work is so helpful in people’s lives.
Sports Biking, even other professionals are part of Bikers Riders, because Bikers connect you to Professional people, businesses experts. Other medical paternity and global community, exporters and importers that made you a renowned personality.
What kind of Charity do you give to the community?
Francis Opoka, we give support like food items, clothes, and medicine to people living with Disability, including children, elderly people and mothers, yearly we give support twice in early June and secondly Charity tour, we donate and we give support in November.
In terms of money like UGX 15 million in every tour, if we collected UGX 40 million, we give UGX 10 million for Charity in every quarter of the year.
“So for Bikers in the County, I am not predicting because in different part of the regions, we have Bikers Association members, those who have their Bikes we do anything together, the number of Bikers Riders in the country can reach up to 5,000, we have Federation that unite all the Bikers in the country (FBAU), I am their Social Affairs Officer”
One of the biggest beneficiaries is our happiness, whenever we go, we book hotel, we also have our catering teams who book hotel cock for us, we sort officials who take care of the Bikes, we have our moto. “That when you are happy, drink Alcohol if you want long happiness, marriage wife within six months if you want permanent happiness Bike new Bike”
How much does it cost for a person?
Francis Opoka, bike Like BMW, the cheapest Bike begins from $10,000, the new one the price is from $140,000 to $160,000 new Bike BMW Suzuki sport Bike. “We called them Hayabwazu”. Those are the Bikes with top most speed from 320 kilometers per hour, those are supper sport Bikers, we usually used them for A Rapela, showing speed.
In the fourth coming event, we are giving to close Acholi road with police traffic during our launching in Gulu.
The most expensive items from the Bikers are the Bike rider gear, which is very expensive, the cost can even buy a new Bike alone, among the fans are married women and those who are not married.
