UGANDA: THE ELEPHANTS DEVELOPED ADVANCE IQ THAT DETECT HARMFUL SUBJECT AHEAD OF HUMAN TECHNOLOGY OF AI THAT PREDICT AND DETECT HARMFUL

Have you ever looked into the eyes of an elephant and wondered just how much they understand

The latest discovery on Elephants in Nwoya District finding indicated that the Elephants are more supplicated in their raids in Nwoya District that they can detect harmful chemical poison planted in Pumpkin, Pawpaw, snare trap nails used to trap Elephants.

Equate from Elephant home “Have you ever looked into the eyes of an elephant and wondered just how much they understand? Elephants are often said to have incredible memories, but their cognitive abilities go far beyond simply never forgetting. When we talk about elephant intelligence and facts about elephants, we are discussing one of the most sophisticated minds in the animal kingdom.

Their massive size corresponds to the largest brain of any land animal. While comparing elephant brain vs human brain weight isn’t a perfect measure, as humans have a higher brain-to-body weight ratio, it’s worth noting that the elephant brain contains approximately three times as many neurons as a human brain. This fascinating fact leads many to question: What is the true elephant IQ?, and how does elephant IQ compared to human intelligence actually stack up? Let’s dive into what makes an elephant smart!”

Ayaa Hilda 29 years old, observed that the groups of Elephants one day descended in her two acres of Maize, and they harvested all Maize plantation and brought the them at her door, the operation that started at 9:00Pm and ended up to 8:20 Am in the morning, the groups of beasts gather to eat the Maize at her door while locking them inside until they consume all Maize cobs.

In the past, the Elephants could be trapped by using a snare hole dug and planted spear or hanging trap spear that can kill the Elephant while coming to drink water, or during their grazing period. But these days the elephants have developed more advanced techniques that can detect all the traps, whether poisonous chemicals are planted in Pumpkin and pray to deadly elements.

Nyeko Charles, 70 years old, from Agung acknowledged that in the past elephants used to terrorize community who live along or near Murchison Wildlife Game Park, when they are approaching the villages you can hear the grumble of their stomach when it produces sharp sound, you would know that the elephants are coming.

However, these days the head of an elephant would tip toe up to your door steep, and you cannot detect the beast is around. The head of the elephant who is on survey would come to pick the aroma of Maize, Millet or bread. Once the head of the elephant who is on a mission finds its target, he will report back to the bigger groups and all of them will come and surround the hurt, and they will remove the grass thatch.

Later, all of them will push their hand and begin consuming the Maize. The head of the elephant will stand at the door steep, it will make sure that the door is blocked, they will concentrate on consuming Maize or Millet, with tempering to cause damage to the people who are sleeping in the house.

In the past when people blew horns to chase the elephant, blew the whistle to chase the elephant, or used bees to chase the elephants. But, when you blow horns, Blank gun short, the elephants will not run away, instead they will change toward you to kill you.

Nyeko recalls that to notice that the elephants are within your compound, you will notice their presence when they are breaking tree twigs within your compound. You know the elephants are within your area.

“Once the elephants climb into your Maize, Cassava or millet plantation they will eat all the crops, because one elephant eats one acre of millet and potato plantation, you cannot not even chase them, they live at their own will.” Nyeko argued.

Anek Delphine Angac, also supports Nyako submission. She says when the elephants reach your homestead, you will hear when they break tree twigs, once they smell the aroma of the food stuff in the house, first one elephant comes for the survey and will go back to call other groups of the elephants

Delphine Anek narrates that upon surroundings they will open the roof and all of them will push their hand and begin to feast.

“One night I was sleeping with 7 children in one hurt, when the elephants came, they opened the roof of my hurt, and pushed their hands into the house, and began to feast on my five bags of Maize. Until I ignited my grass thatch hurt when they all ran away.”

The elephant is very wise, you don’t talk in slow voice, but you must shout louder in order for them not to hear your voice.

In my neighborhood, the home of one called Obal in Agung village. The groups of elephants who pitched camp in his homestead, they all uprooted the mango trees and blocked the path leading to his home, while also barricaded roadblocks and built defenses with the branches of Mangoes tree they have uprooted around his homestead to block the access from the family. While descending maize plantations.

Christine Nzawukunda 35 years old, a mother of 5 children living in Agung says the groups of elephants destroyed two acres of Maize and ferried it to her door steeply and feasted on it all night.

“I am left with nothing; all my crops have been destroyed.” Nzawukunda decried.

Patrick Ojok from Okwii Ywaya village, also says one day the elephant attacked his Soyabean garden, in the process to scare the beasts, he started blowing vuvuzela to chase them. Instead, the head of the elephant zero on him; when the elephant charged toward him, he took off, unfortunately, the elephant caught up with him.

Fortunately, Ojok Patrick developed a survival tactic, as lurk stroke, from nowhere, Ojok narrated that he grabbed dry grass and put it in his head. When the elephant who was charging toward him, saw him putting on grass. The elephant stopped while looking at him. They both remain standing there for two hours, until the elephant leaves at his will without attacking him and then he walks away.

Hole for Elephant fence

Patrick Ojok, since the return of the Acholi community from Internal Displaced Camps (IDPs), the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), dug up a hole around Murchison Game Park to stop the elephants. However, the elephants still alluded to the Hole dug around the Wildlife Game Park. But still the elephants still dig the ground from afar and make their way to the hole, or they will follow the hole after entering in, and they will get the narrow channel that will allow them to cross to the other side of the park.

“The elephants are so learned and wise as if they were taught by human beings the way military forces operate during combat war, one head of the elephant will come and stand at the door steep, blocking entry out and inside the house. While the young elephants feast on Potatoes plantations for hours, when the young elephants are satisfied. The head of the elephant will give command by shouting hhhhhhhhhh, while commanding them to leave and they all walk away.

Angeyo Joyce, 66 years old. The Agung Center observed that the elephants when you shout at them will get wild, but when you talk in a low voice while begging them to leave, the elephants will retreat.

When the groups of elephants came to my homestead, they divided themselves into three groups, one group had 7 elephants, the second group had two elephants, and the last one had two elephants. Each group attacked our houses at the same time.

“My son who was sleeping with his family in the house, survived by scaling the wall, while the elephants were feasting on his food stuff, I also sneaked and passed between the legs of two elephants.

Odwar Joseph, 40 years old. The Head of Favor of God Driver, also has experienced the IQ of elephants, narrates that when the mother elephant has the young one don’t try to approach them. The mother of the elephant will break tree branches and strow it to you the way man throws logs to you.

“If you want to see how the elephant is clever like human beings, when one elephant is killed, all elephants will pitch camp and mourn the loss of the loved one until the caucus of the dead elephant gets rotten and they will leave the place.” Odwar Joseph noted.

Francis Ojok, 36 years old, a Game Ranger from Murchison Game Park, says the elephants are wiser than human beings. If you want to know that the elephants can remember their trace of knowledge for more than 500 years and know their roots. Elephants follow the path which was used sometime back by their ancestors.

Lutuku/Temo road is a 67 kilometers road that starts from Olwiyo/Pakwach road.

The Temo –Lutuku 47 kilometers road was the route followed by the elephant, and these days the elephants still follows when they are coming to the community. The elephant’s knowledge and IQ is more than human IQ, it means the man-made AI cannot be compared to the elephant’s IQ.

Ocaya Laconyi recounted that one day the group of 6 elephants came and invaded to acres of Soybean, the elephant first line up and took position from the far end and started eating soya bean while advancing. His mother and other fellow women were making ululation and banging empty tins blowing whistle without the responses from the beasts.

“I came with my younger brother Obwot Wellborn with logs of fire, we run toward them, and the elephant took off, that was then 10 years ago. However, these day. The same method we had applied in the pass to chased the elephant, cannot work, because they have developed new method and learned our tactic also.”

Ojok Francis says the elephant gets the aura smell of food crops from the water when the elephant is drinking water, they get the aura of crop plantation. One elephant that gets the aura of a crop plantation will take the aura smell and place it on the nose of one elephant, so the elephant will transfer the aura smell to the third elephant.

How do they make conversation, they will discuss the matter in the way human beings also discuss issues related to them. Upon agreeing, the first elephant that discovered the smell of the crop plantation will lead the way to the plantation.

“On their way to the plantation, the elephant which got the smell will lead the way, when he got lost, the second elephant that the aura smell was placed in his nose will take over to lead the root from where the first elephant lost the track. When the second elephant also smells, the third will follow suit, it will rotate until they reach the garden.” The ranger argued.

After the elephant’s feast, their leader will lead the way back, they move in chain like human beings

Francis Ojok, says.  “In the past by the time people came back from IDP camps, they were blowing horns, Vuvuzela, beat the drum, and blew the whistle. Blanker guns were short to scare the elephants, including fire, even if the gun is short in the air the elephant will never run. But these days when we use those scarecrows, the elephant will in turn fight back by chasing the people.” Ojok Patrick admitted.

Nyeko Pyro Paul, 86 years old, has a wonder inside how the Nwoya Community were fighting back elephant invasion, he said in the past traps like snails were used to kill elephants, Chemical poison were used to kill the elephant.

“We used to put chemical poison inside Pawpaw and Pumpkin, we cut pawpaw into two and placed chemical poison inside and later we covered it well, but when the elephant smelled the pawpaw instead of eating it they threw it away. Even a snail which is ironed on timber and when the elephant steps on it, the nails will get stuck on the elephant foot, the elephant will not move a long distance. The beast will die. Nyeko Pyro Paul said.

Francis Ojok, Game Ranger from Nwoya village says the problem of elephant’s invasion will come to pass when an electric wire fence is built surrounding the park.

Human Poaching will cease when the electric fence built to control poachers, and Uganda Wildlife Authority started Social cooperative responsibility to the community who live and defend of poaching.

Elephantine Cognition: A Marvel of Nature

Elephants possess remarkable cognitive abilities. They exhibit:

  • Exceptional memory: They remember migration routes, water sources, and social connections over vast distances and decades.
  • Complex social structures: Elephant societies are intricate, matriarchal systems with strong family bonds, cooperative behavior, and even evidence of grief.
  • Problem-solving skills: They can navigate complex environments, use tools (like branches to swat flies or dig for water), and even strategize cooperatively to overcome obstacles.
  • Self-awareness: Studies using the mirror test suggest elephants possess a sense of self, recognizing themselves in reflections – a trait shared by few species.
  • Emotional intelligence: Elephants display a wide range of emotions, including joy, sadness, anger, and empathy. They demonstrate sophisticated social reasoning and can recognize the emotional states of others.

Their large brains, the largest of any land animal, support these complex cognitive functions. However, brain size alone doesn’t dictate intelligence.
