Uganda government in crack down arrested 2,000 NUP supporters, alienated 30 in cold blood

Un confirmed reported inside intelligence circle, reported that Robert Kyagulanyi has been arrested

GULU CITY-TUESDAY, JANUARY 27,2026.

Robert Kyagulanyi, Ssentamu, aka Bobi Wine reiterated his commitment to continue resisting what he described as an authoritarian regime and electoral theft, though his X twitter handle says the military and security forces continue to look for him and issue threats to harm him.

Stressed that he is in hiding for his safety, and supporters are protecting him,

“My home remains surrounded by military and thousands of my supporters have been violently arrested or killed in the aftermath of the election expressing gratitude that he is still alive and safe because of ordinary Ugandans shielding him”

Warns that despite threat being excreted on him, his movement will persevere argued his supporters that we shall overcome someday

Robert Kyagulanyi went into hiding immediately casting his vote in the January 15, 2026 presidential election, which the government of Uganda declared in favor of the long-time Uganda tyranny President Museveni. Citing fears for his safety from UPDF, allegedly repeated UPDF raids on His home in Kasangati 17, kilometres outside Kampala and harassment of his family, including an incident where his wife was injured and needed medical care following alleged assault by soldiers during a raid in his absence.

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence forces (CDF), has publicly distanced himself harming Kyagulanyi’s wife, however, emphasized that the UPDF interest is to apprehend Bobi Wine, not family members. Source close to Gen. Muhoozi revealed that Gen. Muhoozi had planned to hang. Uganda CDF, GEN Muhoozi have confirmed 30 people killed and 2,000 have so far been detained, according to him

Human Rights Advocates warn BOBI Wine life is at risk

A law firm representing him and civil-liberties advocates have publicly warned that his life is a risk, given inflammatory statements by UPDF hierarchy labelling BOBI Wine and his supporters as “terrorists.” And asserting forceful action

Abdul Luis, a businessman from Gulu City, and also trader in Kampala, when asked about the situation in his home city, commented on January 15,2026 after general election things were bad. At first the situation was worse, but people started coming out on the streets slowly.

“Many people lost their lives, while others innocently were arrested and many disappeared. Now relatives claim that they have not found the bodies of their loved ones.”

Brian Tumusiime, a business person revealed that Robert Kyagulanyi today January 27, he has been arrested according to an impeccable source who asked not to be named.

“There road block is everywhere outside Kampala capital City, monitoring Bobi Wine, and even his phone communication is being tracked. Let’s wait for confirmation tonight.” Brian Tumusiime observed.

Bobi Wine has not been publicly confirmed as arrested by Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba Uganda CDF.

How western Uganda voted on January 15,2026.

According to impeccable sources, from Mbarara City, told our Correspondent that year in year out, since f=voting has been taking place, UPDF military men voted instead of civilians, when you go to vote in the morning, you will find that ballots boxes has been stuffed,

“What usually take place in Western Uganda, UPDF military men ticks the ballots paper in favour of the president Museveni, for example, in polling station that have 800 voters, the UPDF soldiers ticks all 800  ballots papers, and when you go to vote, they will tell you here we have finished election. And in the just concluded election, it has been a routine business. When I went to cast my vote, I was told they had voted on my behalf.”
