 UGANDA: GULU UNIVERSITY TO GRADUATES 1338, NEW FACULTY-VICE PROF GEORGE OPENYJURU LADAAH VICE CHANCELLOR

All leads to Gulu University the 19 graduation, as 71 under graduates students missing their graduation today

 

Tomorrow Friday, Feb. 9,2924.  All the road in Gulu City will lead to Gulu University to witness 19 Gulu University graduation

GULU CITY-THURSDAY, 8, 2024.

Prof. George Openyjuru Ladaah while addressing Northern Uganda Media Club NUMEC journalists at Gulu University in excited mood unveiled that Gulu University tomorrow Friday Feb. 9, 2024 is going to graduate 1338 students undergraduate since 2001 at the initiation of the University.

“I am very excited for the 19 graduation that will take place tomorrow, although the University started 2001, but the graduation took place three years later.”

Gulu University has faculty of medicine, faculty of agriculture and environment, faculty of business and development studies, faculty of education and humanities, faculty of science, faculty of law, and institute of peace strategic studies.

Gulu University also is gear toward opening more new faculties that include, faculty of Engineering, faculty of humanity in Art faculty, faculty Agriculture farm institute and more other new programs are under way.

Dr. Davey David Okello Owiny, Gulu University Deputy Chancellor supported Prof. Openyjuru Ladaah, the Vice Chancellor by revealing more program to extend Gulu University in the area of construction the biggest Gulu University Medical Hospital that will accommodate 380 beds, the heart of medical school hospital that will be constructed in 20 areas.

Dr. Okello Owiny the Deputy VC, also disclosed that Gulu University is building a new Senate building new the current faculty of medicine.

The do disclosed that Gulu University through the Gulu University Council discussed the admission of medical students that has been affecting the Greater North in academic year 2023 that saw no any students from the Greater North was admitted to peruse Medicine in the Government admission that 9 government Universities are allocated 80 list of students for medicine.

“Gulu University council have written to the Government asking them that 30 percent of students admitted for medicine will be admitted by Gulu University.

And also we are going to give 5 slots for students who have done fairly to be admitted for medicine, schools like Gulu High Secondary School, Kitgum High School, St. Joseph College Layibi we are going to select the best students.”
