Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, the MP for Gulu City, West, Layibi-Bardege, his media briefing in Gulu City says I have heard people say Ojara Martin and Gen. Charles Otema Awany sponsored Zenzi youth called Aguu to caused violence, this is totally wrong.
“I have children, I cannot sponsor thugs to beat people, this cannot work, I have been with Boda boda in Gulu City at St Monica Catholic Center with over 300 Boda boda which I gave them 300 Helmets decorated with President Museveni flyers. And after the function with them I went home because I was hungry.”
I started the project to support Gulu City Boda boda in 2023, under a Foundation called Mapinduzi Foundation, I created this for them because Boda baoda in this City cannot afford to put fuel in their Bikes in the morning.
Hon. Ojara Martin disclosed, he was not alone, I was with Gulu City Mayor, Alfred Okwonga, and another called Labeja Gunya, both of them are the aspirants for Gulu City mayorship. The two also supported Zenzi youths, each gave UGX 4 million, in total they gave UGX 8 million.

He added Indeed, on Saturday I organized 300 Zenzi youths, I fueled all their Boda Boda and gave them money for lunch, told them to go back to their home, even some journalists who were covering NUP party President, Robert Kyagulanyi documented, the boda boda riding in Gulu City putting of Yellow Helmets.
According Robert Kyagulanyi while addressing rally at Awere Ground, accused politicians who used their position in Gulu City to hired Zenzi youths, mainly UPDF and Uganda Police Forces among other to caused violent, and among incident, the same Boda Boda putting on Yellow Helmets, those are Boda Boda hired by the two mentioned Hon Alfred Okwonga, and Labeja Gunya, who gave them UGX 8 million. While Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi fueled all the 300 boda boda. However, information investigated by Our Correspondent indicated there were 500 boda boda sponsors who were putting on Yellow Helmets, beating NUP supporters on the streets of Gulu City on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Hon. Ojara decried during the press briefing says that none of the 300 boda boda got involved in the violence, he pleaded that although NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi have a right to campaign on the 6th December 2025. Because Bobi Wine is a fully nominated Presidential candidate for the fourth Presidential polls scheduled on January 15, 2026. He himself also has the rights to campaign in Gulu city.
“I appealed to you the media not to burn this City, because it took all of us to build Gulu City, I know the businessmen who are selling in Gulu City are not from Acholi Sub Region alone, there are other people who hail from Central, Eastern and Western regions. The people like Muganda were targeted by Zenzi youth x=called Aguu, I am sorry for that.
On Saturday 6th, December 2025, the hired Zenzi youth called Aguu, looted all the shops belonging to Muganda. Hon. Ojara was silent on whether those who have been affected, their shops vandalized by sponsored Zenzi youths, the government will compensate the owners.
The press briefing turned to a Hollywood episode, first Hon. Ojara cried foul, disclosed how bitterness was, and said there was one person called Ociti Deo, a NUP supporter who abused his mother, “Nhiny Cet pa Maa,” as if his mother did not have an Anus. That guy called Ociti Deo sent his recorded voice all over WhatsApp. Promised to beat me when we met. I have reported the issues to Gulu City Central Police.
When pressed, to mention Police RSD. Hon. Ojara was dumbfounded
The Guardian News Correspondent asked him, how come that he is reporting the threat to his life to Uganda Police Forces, and yet Saturday, December 6th TVs footage pin UPDF and Uganda Police Forces. And even Boada Boda riders those who caused violent TVs footage pin them on violence.
Hon. Ojara replied, “Go I work for the government, “I don’t work with UDPF and Uganda Police Forces.” Neither any UPDF general who he mentioned early on.”
Please spare Gulu City Boda Boda. I did even get money from Major General Otto Wilson the Director of Military Intelligence, neither General Otema, those personnel were not around.

Hon. Ojara went naïve, outburst. Do you think I don’t have money, I am the Member of Parliament for Gulu City, he confirmed that he gave money to Boda Boda, without mentioning how much he gave?
Hon. Ojara made a U-turn, saying those people who are causing problems in Gulu City, you know them.
I condemned the violence that took place, it was not accepted, it was wrong to beat up a very body.
When NUMEC members asked the Northern Uganda Regional Police Officer, he was not committed to talk or comment, only sent away journalists.
However, our investigative journalists finding the aftermath of December 6th 2025, violence, beating and blocking NUP party President Robert Kyaguanyi in Gulu, would have been catastrophic, would Aswa West Regiona Police Commander, Senior Superindent Fred Ahibisibwe not reject and disagreed with other forces who suggest to kill NUP party president in Gulu City during stamped.
When the plan to eliminate Robert Kyagulanyi, from Gulu was presented, Aswa West Region Regional Police Commander, demanded that whoever want to caused death in Gulu City must put everything in writing, for accountability because Aswa West Region is in-charged of Kyagulanyi visit and political rally.

On Saturday, December 6th, Gulu City was marred with violence, opposition Gulu City Police Station, in front of Gulu Main Post Office, over 100 Zenzi youth Goons and Uganda Police Force backed up by UPDF rained sticks and beat up whoever dared to cross their way. Most people who suffered are children and women.
